Navanaga Pooja

‘Nava’ means nine and ‘naga’ is a serpent. Each Naga has eight forebearers. The worship of NavaNagas and their kinsfolk, which sums up to the worship of eighty one serpent gods is the crux of this pooja. Serpent gods have vital associations with childbirth and skin, all through the Vedic symbolisms and scriptures. It has been traditionally believed that NavaNaga pooja grants children and acts as a solution to Skin disease/allergies and prolongs longevity.
